Geography

The community Kuhfelde lies on the main road 248 which runs from Northeim Seesen, Braunschweig, Wolfsburg, Salzwedel and Lüchow by Dannenberg. The county town of Salzwedel is located eight kilometers north of the village Kuhfelde.

History

The region was inhabited in the Neolithic period. This is supported by the megalithic tombs at Leetze.

In 2007, the municipality Kuhfelde for 10 days celebrated the 750th anniversary of the first mention of Kuhfelde.

Through a field amendment agreement, the municipal councils of the municipalities have Kuhfelde ( Date: 2 December 2008 ), Siedenlangenbeck ( on: December 8, 2008 ), Valfitz ( on: 10 December 2008 ) and Püggen ( on: December 2, 2008 ) decided that be resolved their communities and combined to form a new community named Kuhfelde. This agreement was approved by the county as a lower municipal supervisory authority and entered into force on 1 July 2009. Economy and infrastructure
