Kuhn length

Kuhn length is a measure of the rigidity of a polymer. This has the contour length within the Freely - Jointed Chain Model. Here, the Kuhn- length and the length in the stretched, the molecule as a whole so as "straight", can be considered. The name goes back to the Swiss physical chemist Hans Kuhn, who called the Kuhn length in his textbook Principles of Physical Chemistry yet " statistical chain element ".

DNs for example, has a Kuhn length of about 100 nm For semi- flexible chains, as described by the wormlike chain model, corresponds to the Kuhn length twice the persistence length.
