Kuijõe ( German Kuijöggi ) is a village (Estonian küla ) in the rural community Risti ( Risti vald ) in Lääne.

Population and location

Kuijõe located 29 kilometers north-east of the district capital of Haapsalu. The village has 31 inhabitants (as of 31 December 2011).

West of Kuijõe lies the moorland Valgeristi raba.

Known is the cemetery of Kuijõe. It was created by the strong local Baptist church. The first burial took place in 1921.

Manor

The manor Kuijöggi was first mentioned in 1688. In June 1909 sold the former Baltic German owner, Baron Woldemar von Uexküll ( 1860-1952 ), the court of the Founded in 1882, Russian peasant agricultural bank ( vein Talurahva Põllupank ). The bank parceled the property.

The modest, single-storey mansion was built in the early 19th century. It is now privately owned.
