Kula Gulf

The Kula Gulf is a sea in the Western Province of the Solomon Islands. The Gulf is bounded on the west by Kolombangara, in the southeast of Arundel and in the south and west by New Georgia. To the north of Kula Gulf opens in the New Georgia Sound and to the south, the Blackett Strait to connect to the Vella Gulf and the Salomonensee ago.

During the Second World War, the Battle of Kula Gulf between the U.S. Navy and the Japanese Navy took place in the area on July 6th and 7th 1943.
