Kultur im Gugg

Culture in Gugg is a venue for contemporary art and culture in the city of Braunau am Inn in Upper Austria.

The in Braunau town life, this Grade II listed house in the culture Gugg was originally a fire-extinguishing apparatus factory of Rupert Gugg & Sons family, but was adapted in 1989, rebuilt in 2001 and expanded into a cultural center of the city of Braunau 2005. The center is subsidized by the EU, the province of Upper Austria as well as the municipality of Braunau am Inn.

The program offering covers the entire spectrum of contemporary culture, ranging from cabaret, concerts ( swing, blues, funk ) to the theater ( productions ). In addition to presenting national and international artists ( Austria premieres such as Kiki & Herb, Leo Bassi and Annie Sprinkle ) the net productivity is an important part of the programmatic ( a self-production per year).

The 40 individual events per season on average are visited by around 8000 people.

The Braunau Contemporary History Days will take place in Gugg on the last weekend of September.
