Kulturzentrum Bandfabrik

The tape factory is a cultural center in Wuppertal and is one of the most important buildings as factory and administration buildings of the city.

It is located in a former of many Bandwirkereien in Wuppertal. The former ribbon factory Kettler was rebuilt in the late 1990s. It is located on the outskirts between Langer and field Schwelm.

Initiator of the cultural center was the jazz musician and former prison chaplain Erhard Ufermann.

For the institution is the club culture at the edge, which is supported by citizens, businesses and artists in the region. It consists of three objectives:

• Art and Culture retrieve to where people live and work.
• People and groups who are socially marginalized, to provide a forum that enables creative, artistic and innovative forms of expression and encounters and promotes.
• To put an exchange of local artists with national and internationally renowned artists in transition.
