Kulu (Konya)

Kulu is a town and a district of Konya Province in the Central Anatolia region of Turkey. According to 2012 census, the population of the district of 50,525, of which 21,250 live in the town of Kulu. Kulu is about 110 km from Ankara and 150 km from the capital of Konya.

By Kulu performs remote road D -715, which is in the south of Konya, about ten kilometers north of the city meets the European road E-90. In Kulu district is the northern part of the Salt Lake Lake Tuz, about four kilometers east of the county town is the lake Duden Gölü (also Kulu Gölü ), are native to the Flamingos.

Fredrik Reinfeldt, Swedish Prime Minister, visited on 21 April 2009 at Kulu his trip to Turkey. In memory of the late Swedish politician Sven Olof Joachim Palme the city park was named after him.
