Kulula is a South African low-cost airline headquartered and based in Johannesburg and a subsidiary of Comair South Africa.

History

Kulula was founded as the first low cost airline in southern Africa in 2001 by its parent company Comair South Africa. The name of the airline can be from the Zulu word for " easy " or " easy " derive.

The first aircraft were Boeing 727-200, which were later replaced by more modern, quieter and less expensive Boeing 737-400. Since all of these aircraft were leased out by each Safair, they no longer are now in service.
