Kummer surface

The grief- between areas are a lot of algebraic surfaces of order 4, which were first studied by Ernst Eduard Kummer ( 1810-1896 ).

Most of the affliction between surfaces have 16 singular points and the same number of singular tangent planes. The singularities are simple double cone and 16 is the maximum number of singularities of an area of 4th order. The symmetries correspond to those of a regular tetrahedron. There are simple special cases of K3 surfaces and thus belong to the Calabi -Yau manifolds. Fresnel's wave surface is a special subset.
