Kumtag Desert

The Kumtag desert or Kumtag Shamo (Chinese库姆塔格 沙漠, Pinyin Kumutage Shamo, English Kumutage Desert / Kumtag Desert ) is a south-east of Lop located only in Xinjiang Desert, it is a part of the Taklamakan.

The Kumtag Desert covers an area of ​​22,000 square kilometers and is bordered on the east by Dunhuang and in the north to the Tianshan Mountains. The desert is known for the frequent occurrence of shifting dunes.
