Kungsbacka

Kungsbacka is a town in the Swedish province of Halland County and capital of the homonymous municipality ( Kungsbacka kommun ). In the village live 19 057 people.

History

In the Middle Ages there was a marketplace on the Danish side of the border to Sweden. As long as Kungsbacka still belonged to Denmark, it was one of the smallest cities in the country. Even after the city fell to Sweden in 1645, they did not develop further significant because the nearby Gothenburg withdrew workers and workshops. In the middle of the 19th century there was a great fire, after which the town was again rebuilt.
