Kungsör

Kungsör is a locality ( tätort ) in the Swedish province of Västmanland County and municipal seat of the same name.

History

Kungsör evolved from a royal homestead that was creating Gustav Vasa. The farm was one of the favorite places of Charles XI. This king wanted that the settlement developed into a city and provided for the establishment of a magnificent church. His son Charles XII. however, had other interests and so the place was only the status of a market town ( Linköping ).
