Kungsträdgården

Kungsträdgården ( German: King's Garden ) is the name of the center of Stockholm located in the Norrmalm neighborhood public parks. It is located behind the Royal Swedish National Opera on the north bank of the Norrström and one of the oldest parks in the Swedish capital.

History

Originally it was the palace gardens of the Renaissance castle built 1635-1643 Makalös. The facility was not open to the public, armed guards made ​​sure that only members of the court visited the park. Under King Gustav III. but it came to opening to the public, the park has become a favorite place of urban entertainment. Location
