Kunratice u Cvikova

Kunratice u Cvikova ( German Kunnersdorf ) is a municipality of Okres Ceska Lipa in the Liberec Region in the north of the Czech Republic on the southern slope of the Lusatian Mountains. It is located four kilometers east of Cvikov ( Zwickau in Bohemia) on the European road 442 from Decin ( Děčín ) to Liberec ( Reichenberg ) in the valley of the river Svitávka ( Zwittebach ).

Traffic

From 1905 Kunratice was with the railway line Svor - Jablonné v Podještědí - connected to the railway network ( Röhrsdorf German fork). In 1975, the company was set to the track.

History

The first mention of Kunratice found in 1352; already in 1358 the first church was quoted as saying. The first owners were the lords of localnear Veste, which, however, was only up to about 1529 and of the still reflected in the name of the Zámecký vrch ( Schlossberg, 431 m). 1388 was the village of Berka of Dubé Heinrich, who joined it to the reign of Milštejn ( millstone ).

The inhabitants initially earned their living by farming and weaving. Later, three mills, a brick factory, a furniture factory and a Spiegelschleiferei were built in the village. With the expulsion of the German inhabitants after 1945 as well as destruction of the smaller farms, the village depopulated rapidly. Only the furniture factory remained.
