Kunštát Castle

The Kunstat Castle ( German: Kunštát ) in the same city Kunstat in Okres Blansko belongs to the South Moravian Region in the Czech Republic.

The Kunstadt castle evolved from the castle Kunstadt which is occupied only for the year 1360. It was under the Bohemian King George of Podiebrad, the Kunstadt since 1448, belonged, extensively enlarged and remodeled mid-16th century in the Renaissance style. In its place was built Johann Maximilian von Lamberg 1680 a two-storey, rectangular Baroque castle, parts of the old castle and the Renaissance building have been retained. After several changes of ownership since 1901 the castle belonged to the family of Coudenhove- Honrichs. She was expropriated in 1945; the castle passed into state ownership.
