Kupferhof Bauschenberg

The Kupferhof Bausch Berg, who was also called Busch Mountain, was a former Kupferhof in the in the Aachen region town of Stolberg. He had great influence on the economic development of Stolberg.

The Kupferhof got its name due to its location at the foot of a small hill, the Bausch mountain that belongs to the current Stolberg district Büsbach. There is evidence that the copper master Gottfried Schardinel in the second half of the 17th century here was domiciled. He was considered the richest copper masters of Stolberg and possessed at times more than 20 active furnaces. Schardinel was drawn in 1656 after the great fire of Aachen to Stolberg. He was also owner of the Schmidthofs and part owner of the Dollard hammer.

As an energy source to drive the water wheels of Kupferhofs Bausch mountain of neighboring Vichtbach served, the calamine came from the Stolberg mining areas, especially from the sites on Breinigerberg or ore mine Diepenlinchen.

From the three courtyards Dollard Hammer, Bausch mountain and the Strasbourg court the company Prym arose.
