Kuramathi

Kuramathi Island is a hotel of the Maldives is one of eight islands that are managed and marketed by the Maldivian company Universal Enterprises Limited.

It is located 60 km west of Malé in Rasdhoo Atoll. Kuramathi is densely wooded with shrubs and coconut trees. There is a sand bar that is visible at low tide on the west side of the island.

Infrastructure

Can reach the island via the Malé International Airport and then by boat or seaplane.

On the island there is a medical center, where in cooperation with the Martin- Luther -University Halle -Wittenberg, a pressure chamber is operated, and a spa. Since 2000 there is a Biostation on Kuramathi, is in providing information on marine biodiversity and ecology, and insights into the biological processes and relationships are mediated ring to Kuramathi in courses for tourists.

Sports

The water sports center on the island, there is a boat hire, wind surfing and sailing courses are offered there.

Diving areas are in the nearby " Hammerhead Shark Point" and on the outer reef of the atoll with the puffer reef sharks, surgeonfish, parrotfish, triggerfish and butterfly fish. Chance can be seen on the outer reef sea turtles.
