Kurt Langenbein

Kurt Long Leg ( * November 4, 1910; † 22 October 1978) was a German national football team.

Association

The right-winger or center-forward of VfR Mannheim was in the thirties of the most important players at his position in Southern Germany. Three times he was top scorer in the Gauliga Baden. In the round of 1927/28, the turf players in the Rhine district league integrated the offensive talent Oskar tube and Kurt Long leg in the Ligaelf the Blue-White - Red. Long leg was considered intelligence footballer who two decades of Ligaelf VfR belonged, over 1200 games played for the club and it is said to have brought on more than 1,400 doors. He was also once the VfR team that after the end of World War II, on 9 September 1945 in the first football match in Mannheim against SV Waldhof on the side of the players Oskar tube and Karl Striebinger in a 3-1 victory for the forest Höfer active had. On 10 January 1932, the VfR attacker was 1931/32 situated in the semi-final of the German Cup in Saarbrücken between southern Germany and Brandenburg as a right-winger in the Südauswahl. When significant 8:1 success he played alongside goalkeeper Willibald Kress, Franz Schütz, Hans Stubb, Rudolf Gramlich and Edmund Conen. The final he lost with southern Germany, on 5 June 1932 in Leipzig with 1:2 goals against Northern Germany. On March 6, 1932, he first stood for the DFB team on the court, as the Switzerland selection 2-0 was defeated. It was also at the same time the national debut of his former VfR - goal Oskar tube, which is now played at Bayern Munich. While he was in the 38- player provisional squad for the World Cup 1934, took place in the final squad, but no place. In his second and final match against Latvia in Königsberg on 13 October 1935, the 3-0 final results he achieved a international goal. He also came up with 16 appearances in the Süddeutsche selection, after 1932 he was drafted in 1933 with southern Germany and in 1935 and 1938 with the Gauauswahl Baden (58 games for bathing or the Mannheim city selection) in the semifinals at the Imperial Federation Cup.
