Kurt Linder

Kurt Linder ( born October 8, 1933 Neureut ) is a former German football player and coach.

Career as a football player

Lindner played in its active period from 1955 to 1956, Karlsruher SC, where he scored two goals in the Oberliga Süd in ten games. He then moved to Switzerland to the BSC Young Boys, with whom he was 1956/57 champions. 1957 Lindner went to Urania Genève Sport, where he played until 1959. In the 1959/60 season he played for SK Rapid Wien. For Rapid, he scored five goals in nine games. He then returned to Germany where he came from 1960 to 1962 in 26 games for Rot-Weiss Essen used. For RWE, he scored seven goals. In 1962 he moved to Olympique Lyon. There he played in the season 1962/63 even 17 games in which he scored a goal.

His greatest success as a player was winning the Austrian Cup with Rapid Vienna in the season 1959/60. For Rapid, he scored five goals in nine games. With Olympique Lyon in 1963 he reached the French Cup final.

Career as a coach

Linder began his coaching career in 1965 at FC Lausanne-Sport. He stayed only one year coach of the club. From 1968 he coached PSV Eindhoven. He coached the team until 1972. During the season 1972/73 he worked as a trainer for Olympique Lyon. The club BSC Young Boys looked after Linder 1973 until 1977. Starting from 1981, he trained with Aad de Mos Ajax Amsterdam. In the season 1981/82 who won the Dutch national championship. The return of Johan Cruijff Ajax Amsterdam was a major factor for success. Linder had several young players such as Wim Kieft, Frank Rijkaard, Gerald Vanenburg, Sonny Silooy, John van ' t Schip and Marco van Basten used in the league. Linder also undertook Morten Olsen. After discrepancies relating to the Personnel Johan Cruijff Linder left the club. Aad de Mos was his successor as coach at Ajax Amsterdam. 1983 Linder was again coach of BSC Young Boys Bern. However, due to sporting failures he was forced to resign after a short time. 1988 Linder a second time coach of Ajax Amsterdam. But he was unable to match the sporting successes of the past. He was fired during the season.
