Kurt Sakowski

Kurt Sakowski ( born December 23, 1930 in Berlin ) is a former track and field athlete from the German Democratic Republic, which belonged from 1951 to 1970 to the best -goers of the GDR.

Sakowski finished 1951 as the East German championship in the 50 - km walk in 5:26:04 hours in second place behind Horst Voigt, 1952, he reached two times third place, about 50 km and 10,000 m track walking. 1953 Sakowski won in 4:59:45 h over 50 km its first league title. In 1954, he took over 50 km in fourth place and 25 km in second place. In the next few years, he joined the GDR championships in the 20 - km walk.
