Kurt Wiese

Kurt Wiese ( born April 22, 1887 in Minden, † May 27 1974 in Idell, New Jersey ) was a German-born illustrator who has illustrated about 300 books for children.

He went as part of its business education to China, where he fell during the First World War in captivity. Many of his illustrations are therefore influenced Chinese. Among other things he illustrated the " Freddy Books" with the main character piggy Freddy. Later he emigrated to the United States, where he married Gertrude Hansen and settled in New Jersey, where he managed a farm until his death.
