Kurumi Nara

Kurumi Nara (Japanese奈良 くるみ, Nara Kurumi; born 30 December 1991 in Mino, Osaka Prefecture) is a Japanese tennis player.

Career

Nara, who prefers to play on hard court, previously won five singles and three doubles titles on the ITF Women's Circuit. In July 2011, she appeared in Hyogo against Argentina for the first time in Japan Fed Cup to. So far, she contested five matches of which they won two.

In 2010 she was twice in the main draw of a Grand Slam tournament: at the French Open, she was eliminated in the first round at Wimbledon, she reached round two. Her best performance was reaching the third round at the U.S. Open in 2013, where she was taken up as a qualifier. She repeated in 2014 in Melbourne, where she was the first time directly qualified for the main draw of a Grand Slam tournament this success.

2013, it stood at the HP Japan Women's Open Tennis in the semifinals. Nara's biggest success on the WTA Tour was her title on 23 February 2014 in Rio de Janeiro. So she climbed into the top 50 in the WTA world rankings.
