Kusey is a district of the city blocks in the Altmark Salzwedel in Saxony- Anhalt, Germany.

Geography

It is situated in the west of the Altmark and the northern edge of Drömling.

History

Kusey is a Wendish foundation. The name comes from the old Slavic / Polish koza for " goat" or the Old Slavic Kosu for " Blackbird " and therefore means " Ziegenort " or " Amselort ".

The present village Kusey originated from three closely spaced villages:

• Köbbelitz ( documentary was first mentioned in 1053 )
• Kusey ( 1339 mentions )
• Lupitz ( first mentioned 1555)

These three places were united on July 1, 1950 to present Kusey. Each of the three districts was also represented in the coat of arms of the town. Thus, the lupines were for the district Lupitz in which the agricultural researcher Dr. Albert Schultz- Lupitz worked. The cattail showed the original near the hamlet of Kusey for wetland Drömling. Finally, the horse head points to the origin of the name Köbbelitz. And the two churches of Kusey and Köbbelitz as well as the bell tower of Lupitz you can see the former independence of the three districts. In 1910, 339 residents lived in Kusey.

On February 22, 1945, the station was attacked by Kusey Allied aircraft. In this attack, 25 people lost their lives. Today a memorial stone at the station commemorates this event. It bears the inscription: Never again! 22/02/1945.

The municipality was incorporated into Röwitz Kusey on 1 August 2002. Since January 1, 2005 was Kusey, due to the resolution of the administrative community Jeetze - ear - Drömling, to manage Community pads.

Due to a change in the contract area, the municipal council of the municipality Kusey decided on 13 January 2009 that the community Kusey is incorporated into the city blocks. This agreement was approved by the county as a lower municipal supervisory authority and entered into force on 1 January 2010.

After incorporation of the previously autonomous municipality Kusey were Kusey and Röwitz districts of the city blocks. For powered finished my community the village constitution according to § § 86 et seq Municipal Code Saxony -Anhalt has been introduced. The municipality is my finished Kusey and future districts Kusey and Röwitz were the village of receiving city blocks. In the eingemeindeten community and nunmehrigen village Kusey a Ortschaftsrat was formed with nine members including mayor.

Memorial

At the primary school at the Latin way, a memorial stone was erected in 1977 to commemorate the Communist educators and Thuringian Minister of State Dr. Theodor Neubauer, who was murdered in 1945 in Brandenburg -Gorden.
