Kusi Obodom

Kusi Obodom was 1750-1764 3rd Asantehene (ruler ) of the Kingdom of the Ashanti in Ghana today.

Kusi Obodom was already 30 years before his inauguration candidate for the office of the Asantehene as the successor of the kingdom 's founder Osei Tutu I.. Influential priest Okomfo Anokye had at that time, however, for Opoku Ware I, his immediate predecessor, pronounced. After the death of Opoku Ware, he is said to have killed one of his opponents in bloody clashes in the capital, Kumasi. Also during his tenure, he had a low reputation and he was drunk assumed. 1764, when his eyesight began to subside, he voluntarily renounced the rule.
