Kusice

Kusice ( German Kuhtz ) is a village in the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship and is part of the rural community Malechowo ( Malchow ) in the powiat Slawienski ( Schlawe ).

Geographical Location

Kusice located 18 kilometers southwest of the county town Sławno and is Niemica ( Nemitz ) along Route 6 Szczecin - to reach Gdansk. Station is Wiekowo (Alt Wieck ) on the railway line Stargard - Gdańsk.

The village is about 45 meters above sea level in a flat undulating landscape, the highest peak north of Kusice ( Gallows Hill ) measures 60 meters.

History

In the 13th century Kuhtz is a village in the parish Nemitz (Polish: Niemica ) mentioned under the patronage of the monastery Buckow. In 1301 Prince Sambor of Rügen invested in Schlawe ( Sławno ) the Viscount Matthew with a number of villages, including " Cusice ". The Kutzke de Zanow appear later as vassals, and 1350 is the family of Natzmer owner of Kuhtz. From this it acquires Christoph Heinrich von Schlieffen middle of the 18th century. Last owner of the goods before 1945 was Jasper Limbrecht von Schlieffen, who inherited it from his childless uncle Hans Nikolaus von Schlieffen, who died in 1932.

Church

Before 1945 Kuhtz had exclusively Protestant inhabitants. Today the inhabitants of Kusice belong almost exclusively to the Catholic Church. The evangelical church members are supervised by parish in Koszalin ( Koszalin ) in the Diocese of Pomerania - Greater Poland the Evangelical-Augsburg (ie Lutheran ) Church in Poland.

School

The school building in Kuhtz was rebuilt in the late 20s of the 20th century. It was an elementary school, which was attended by children from Kuhtz and Louisenhof ( Krzekoszewo ). Last German school governors were the teachers fruits and Radde.
