The Kuvempu University is a public university in the state of Karnataka in India.

History

It was founded on June 29, 1987 by an act of the legislature of the State of Karnataka by the change No.28/1976 dated 29 January 1989 under the Karnataka State University Act 1976. The university offers bachelor's and master's degree programs in a wide range of disciplines. The university was recognized by the UGC in 1994 and is also a member of the Association of Indian Universities. The Registrar shall (2010) Sri Hansraj Bharadwaj and Vice-Chancellor, Prof. SA Bari, also employed 175 teachers and 275 employees. The number of students is 32,000.

Library

The building of the Library of Kuvempu University has more than 69,000 volumes and 251 current periodicals. Also available a CD -ROM database and Internet e -mail facilities. The library offers access to 2000 e-journals online. There is also a fully computerized language lab and for trained coaches.
