KVK Tienen

Koninklijke Voetbal Club Tienen, also known in French as KVK Tienen, is a Belgian football club based in Tienen.

History

On 28 May 1921, the Racing Club was founded in Tienen, who joined the Belgian Football Association in August of the same year. 1931, the club was relegated to the second division. 1934, the club was just three points behind runner-up behind White Star AC. In the following season, the rise was just missed, this time as a second behind the RSC Anderlecht. After a fifth place in 1936 succeeded 1937 as second division champions the promotion to the First Division. With only five wins but RC Tienen finished last and were relegated again. With five points behind second-division champion FC Tilleur direct resurgence was missed in third place. Because of the war on the regional game has stopped, however.

On 22 June 1941, the local rivals Vlug De Vrij Wommersom that renamed itself after the war repeatedly emerged. In 1945 the club was first called Voorwaarts Wommersom, from June 1946 Voetbalvereniging Voor Warts, before the club from August 1947 bore the name Voorwaarts Tienen.

On May 16, 1951 RC Tienen received the attribute " royal " was called the Royal Racing Club Tienen. By 1957 he was still playing in the second division, then rose from the table next to last. The local rivals Voorwaarts played in parallel in the third division, from which he descended in 1959. 1963-1965 and 1966/67, he could return in the third division again. 1967/68 could again return for a season in the second division RRC Tienen, was there only last. Even in 1970, the club rose from the Viertklassigkeit. Starting in 1973, the club used the Flemish place names in the club name and thus was called Royal Racing Club Tienen. In 1975, the return to the third tier are celebrated. 1978 were missing five points to newly promoted KFC Turnhout for the return to the second division. In the following years the team finished again only places in midfield. 1981 merged RRC Tienen Tienen and Voorwaarts to Koninklijke Voetbal Club Tienen.

1985 could play in front of the united club again, but was in the end only third behind KFC Verbroedering Geel and FC Assent. In the following season the team narrowly avoided relegation, but earned in 1987 a sixth and a third place in 1988. 1990 was two points to master KFC Turnhout, in the following year they were even on points with RFC Sérésien.

KVK Tienen 1993 reach only six wins and thus the club was relegated to the Viertklassigkeit. 1995 managed to rise again. After a fourth place finish in 1998 with four points behind Movers KFC Herentals succeeded in the following season as champions return to the second division. Two -point lead over KV Kortrijk, which occupied the relegation place, ranged for relegation. 2000, there was only a point ahead of KMSK Deinze. 2001, the club was second from bottom, for several mergers is, however, remained in the second division. After a 14th place in 2002 Tienen managed in the following season, only six victories and had to descend along with the FC Denderleeuw.

In the first season in the third division, the team finished in eighth place in the standings. In the season 2005/ 06 she was twelve points ahead of Royal Francs Borains third league champions and thus managed to return to the second division. At the end of the 2011/12 season but one rose as third from bottom again.
