The Kwatay (also Kuatay or Kuwaataay ) is a related to the Diola West Atlantic language that is spoken mainly in the south of Senegal in Casamance.
It is part of the Bak - languages , a sub-group of the West Atlantic languages of the North within the large family of the Niger - Congo languages .
Speaker
This is called the Kwatay in Casamance, in Diembéring, Bouyouye, Nyikine, Boucott Diola and in some coastal villages south of the mouth of the Casamance River and in Dakar.
In the year 2002 5.625 speakers were counted in the national census.
