KWO Berlin

The BSG Oberspree cable factory in Berlin was a German Sports Association from Berlin. Home of the multi-genre club was the KWO sports facility ( demolition 2001), which offered 5,000 spectators.

Men's Football

The BSG KWO Berlin was founded in 1949 as the Sports Association of VEB Oberspree cable factory in Berlin - Oberschoeneweide. In the initial phase, the Berlin acted solely at the regional level in Berlin. In 1951 the company was renamed in BSG Motor Oberspree Berlin. Badminton

With the beginning of the 1980s the club won its first successes at youth level. The continuous junior work paid at the end of the decade, when the now adult talent itself, supplemented by some veterans of the club, vorkämpften up in the top flight of the GDR. To a medal win it was never enough in the team title fights, however: in 1989, the team finished sixth, fifth in 1990. In the individual disciplines Michaela Squire won in women's doubles in 1988 in collaboration with Petra Schubert the silver medal.
