The National Technical University of Ukraine " Kiev Polytechnic Institute " (Ukrainian: Національний технічний університет України " Київський політехнічний інститут " ( КПІ ), English: National Technical University of Ukraine "Kiev Polytechnic Institute " (KPI )) is the leading technical university in Kiev, Ukraine. The internationally accepted designation is National Technical University of Ukraine - KPI ( NTUU "KPI ").

Overview

The university was founded in 1898. At the time, the university operating from four departments: Mechanical, chemical, agriculture and engineering. In the first foundation semester 360 students were enrolled. Today, the number of students approximately 40,000, of which 1,000 students come from abroad. About 4,500 students finish their studies every year. A full-time course lasts for five years and 6 months.

1930, the Kiev Institute of Civil Engineering was ( Kyiv Civil Engineering Institute ), today's Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture ( KNUCA ) of the KPI and the Department of Architecture Art Academy founded in Kiev.

The University has on-campus via a small Polytechnical Museum, which can be visited by anyone on weekdays. Admission is free.
