Kyiv Post

The Kyiv Post is a Ukrainian weekly newspaper from Kiev. It is the main English newspaper in the country. On the newspaper's website, there are also contributions in Russian and Ukrainian languages ​​. The weekly circulation of about 25,000.

History

The Kyiv Post was first published in September 1995 (at that time in the publishing KP Media ). Founder was the American Jed Sunden, who was then professionally staying in Ukraine. The newspaper now covers the topics of politics, business and entertainment, the editor consists of both Western and Ukrainian journalists from. The newspaper often operational investigative journalism, as there were reports of the murder of journalist Georgy Gongadze, the Orange Revolution or corruption in Ukrainian politics.

Since 2010 can be found on the website of the Kyiv Post also Ukrainian and Russian-language article to reach a larger audience in Ukraine with the website.

In July 2009, guided by the founder Jed Sunden KP Media Verlag the Kyiv Post sold to the Pakistani- British businessman Mohammad Zahoor. Zahoor was an entrepreneur in the eastern Ukrainian city of Donetsk. Since then, the Kyiv Post is published via Zahoors own publishing house.

On 15 April 2011 the chief editor Brian Bonner was fired after the newspaper had published an interview with the Ukrainian Agriculture Minister Mykola Prysjaschnjuk against the will of the publisher. After a strike of the editorial Bonner, however, was already used five days later back in his old post.
