Kyle Bailey (basketball)
Kyle Bailey ( born March 10, 1982 in Fairbanks, Alaska ) is a former American professional basketball player and current video coordinator for the basketball team at Santa Clara University.
The 1.89 m and 89 kg Guard began his active career as a student at the Broncos of Santa Clara University. There he broke some records: He played the most games (127 ), most minutes played ( 3,897 ) and had made most of litters of the three-point distance ( 679 ). Of this he made 225, making him the second-best three-point launcher at the University.
After graduating in philosophy, he played in the NBA Development League for the Florida Flames. He was almost taken off the NBA team the San Antonio Spurs signed in 2005, but failed as one of the last players. Instead, he moved in 2006 to Germany to BG 74 Gottingen, reaching with this club promotion to the National Basketball League. In addition, he received the award of the Most Valuable Player of the 2nd Basketball Bundesliga North in the same year.
For the season 2007/ 08 he moved to Erstligakonkurrenten ratiopharm Ulm. There he was active on the position of the point guards and replaced Austen Rowland. In March 2008, his involvement ended in the Danube city. In the 2008 /09 season, he went again to basket hunt for the BG 74 Göttingen, which were renamed in the meantime as MEG Göttingen. The season was a great success and the Göttingen reached in their second Erstligasaison the play-offs. However, in the quarterfinals they lost the Brose Baskets Bamberg.
For the 2009/2010 season Bailey signed a contract for one year, until the end of the 2009/2010 season at EnBW Ludwigsburg in the National Basketball League. However, it was not possible to build on the achievements of previous years, and he scored in 21 games an average of 8.8 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.5 assists. Was announced on 16 February 2010 that EnBW Ludwigsburg and Bailey agreed to an immediate termination of the contract, after coach Öngören had set to teammates TJThompson as playmaker.
In the 2010/2011 season Bailey was again active in the BG Göttingen. After he initially was not early in the season 2011/12 in the squad, his contract was reactivated after the second game. After the 2011/2012 season, his contract was not renewed.
Kyle Bailey has worked as a video coordinator for the basketball team, the Santa Clara University since 2013.
