Kyle is a city in Hays County in the U.S. state of Texas.

The population was 28016 inhabitants in the census of 2010. In 2000, the population was 5314, so Kyle is one of the fastest growing cities in Texas.

History

Kyle was founded in 1881 by Captain Fergus Kyle, the site was chosen because at the International - was Great Northern Railroad railway line.

Katherine Anne Porter lived from 1892 to 1901 in Kyle. Many of her famous novels are set in Kyle.

Education

The City of Kyle is in the Hays Consolidated Independent School District.
