Kylie Palmer

Kylie Jayne Palmer (born 25 February 1990 in Brisbane, Queensland) is an Australian freestyle swimmer.

Career

Kylie Palmer starts at major international events for Australia for the 2006 Commonwealth Games. There she was fifth at the 400 -m freestyle distance. During their first 2007 World Championships in Melbourne she reached the final of the 800m freestyle and was eighth in this and thus last. The final breakthrough Palmer at the Short Course World Championships 2008 in Manchester. She won the 200m and 400m freestyle and was second over 800 meters. The fourth medal she won as third place with the 4 × 200 m freestyle relay.

At the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, the young Australian occurred on two routes. By Stephanie Rice, Bronte Barratt and Linda MacKenzie in the 4 × 200 m freestyle relay on August 14, she won with a world record time of 7:44,31 minutes the gold medal in front of the favorite seasons from China and the United States. She was in third position fastest swimmer Australia and handed over with a lead of 3.14 seconds.

With 8:14,11 minutes Palmer set a Commonwealth record in the 800 meters at the Australian Short Course Championships in 2008. At the 2010 Commonwealth Games in New Delhi, she won the gold medal in the 200 m freestyle and the 4x200 m freestyle relay and silver medal in the 400 m freestyle.
