Kyo (Band)

KYO is a French rock group of the late 1990s and early 2000s.

History

The four band members from the Yvelines already know each other from school, when they realized their common love for rock music in the style of Nirvana, Pearl Jam and Rage Against the Machine. Gradually, they gave several concerts at schools and in the region around Paris. In 1997 she met at a music competition their manager Yves- Michel Akle, which helped them to a recording contract with Sony BMG.

In March 2000 she released her first album Kyo, the only recorded a modest success. In addition, they performed as the opening act of Indochine, David Hallyday and placebo. In early 2003 they released their second album, Le Chemin ( "The Way" ), which is about 600,000 times sold them and finally gave the breakthrough.

In January 2004, they were equally honored for their success four times at the NRJ Music Awards. In December of the same year they released their third album, 300 lesions, which reached already after one week gold status. The first single Contact also recorded successes in some French-speaking Switzerland. The end of 2005 Kyo announced to the fans about his intention to provisionally take a break until their fourth album, the actual release was planned for 2008, was completed. Until then, the band members own projects dedicated.

2006 composed and played them the song L'Or de nos vies for Fight Aids Monaco.

Meanwhile, singer Benoît wrote songs for French singer Thierry Amiel ( " L' amour en face " ) and Emmanuel Moire ( " Le sourire ").

In 2007, she worked each on their own projects in the new studio the band. Ben and Flo founded on his own band, Empyr, with fellow musicians from the bands Watcha Pleymo and Vegastar and published 12 May 2008 their first album The Peaceful Riot.
