Kyoto Animation
K. K. Kyoto Animation (Japanese株式会社 京都 アニメーション, Kabushiki - gaisha Kyoto animēshon ), often also called short KyōAni (京 アニ), is a Japanese animation studio.
History
The studio was founded in 1981 by Yōko Hatta (八 田 阳 子) in Uji, Kyoto Prefecture established, which had in the previously gained experience in coloring specialized studio Mushi Production. On July 12, 1985, was registered as a company in the legal form of Yugen - gaisha ( GmbH). In 1999, a change to Kabushiki - gaisha ( Aktiengesellschaft) took place. Under the leadership of the husband of Yōko Hatta, Hideaki Hatta (八 田 英明), the studio has had close relations with producers Sunrise and is itself the owner of the animation studio Animation Thu
Although Kyoto Animation was founded in 1981, produced the studio until the end of 2007 just seven own anime series and two OVA productions. However, the studio was involved in various other productions, of which there are mainly relieved the other studios in post production. This Kyoto Animation was also involved in the production of Kiddy Grade or Inu Yasha.
2011 founded the Kyoto Animation, the Light Novel Bunko imprint ENS KA (KAエスマ 文庫) and went into the book publishing business. When imprint published demo Koi ga Shitai Chūnibyō! and Kyōkai no Kanata, which were then adapted by Kyoto Animation as anime.
