Kyra Sedgwick
Kyra Minturn Sedgwick ( born August 19, 1965 in New York City ) is an American actress and among other things, Golden Globe -winning actress.
Life
Sedgwick attended only private schools and studied theater at the University of Southern California. She made her debut still a student in 1982 in the soap opera Another World of NBC broadcasts. They also played theater roles and won a Theatre World Award for her role in a play by Eugene O'Neill.
My film debut was in 1985 in Sedgwick War and Love. In the film, Born on the 4th of July, she starred alongside Tom Cruise in the movie Singles - Lonely together alongside Bridget Fonda and Campbell Scott. For her role in the TV film Miss Rose White in 1992 she was nominated for a Golden Globe.
In the film Power of Love Sedgwick starred with Julia Roberts, for this role she was nominated for the Golden Globe prices and American Comedy Award. In the film Phenomenon - Achieving the impossible from the year 1996, she starred alongside John Travolta.
From 2005 to 2012, she starred in the lead role as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson in the television series The Closer. For this role she was nominated from 2006 to 2011 for a Golden Globe for lead actress of a TV series ( drama) and awarded in 2007. 2006 to 2010 she was also nominated for this role for the Screen Actors Guild Award, a prize of U.S. drama Association. In 2010 she received an Emmy Award.
In 2012 she was in the horror thriller The Possession front of the camera, the Sam Raimi produced, and in the Ole Bornedal directed.
Private
In the TV - production Lemon Sky 1987 Sedgwick Kevin Bacon met, with whom she has been married since 1988. With him she played in 1991 in the movie Pyrates, 1995 in Murder in the First, a year later starred in his directorial debut, Losing Chase, whom she also produced, in 2004 in The Woodsman, and Loverboy 2005. Together they have two children and live in New York City. Both children ( Travis and Sosie Bacon) are also an actor and musician.
Sedgwick is a second cousin of actress Edie Sedgwick.
Sedgwick received on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on 8 June 2009, own star, it is in the vicinity of the star of her husband Kevin Bacon.
