The Kyrgyz national ice hockey team represents the country Kyrgyzstan in hockey at international competitions.

History

As early as 1962 denied a Kyrgyz selection one match. Against the selection of Lithuania, there was a 2:7 defeat on March 11, 1962 as part of the Spartakiade in Sverdlovsk. However, both teams were no official national teams, as both the Soviet republics were represented by the Soviet national ice hockey team.

The Kyrgyz national hockey team was like many other national teams from Asia debut in an official competition as part of the Winter Asian Games. On January 28, 2011 Kyrgyzstan met in the less powerful Premier Division of the Asian Winter Games in 2011 on the international experience of Thailand national team against which it clearly won with 15:4. Just one day later, the IIHF Challenge Cup of Asia - winner of 2009 and Arab Cup of Ice Hockey 2008 winner, the United Arab Emirates, was clearly defeated with 14:0. The following four games contested the Kyrgyz successfully and thus won the gold medal in the Premier Division.
