The Kysak station ( Železničná stanica Kysak ) is the station of the municipality Kysak in Slovakia. Kysak is an important railway hub in eastern Slovakia. In Kysak the railway line Košice - Žilina is linked to the railway line leading to Poland Kysak - Muszyna.

The station is located on the Pan-European Transport Corridor No. Va ( Bratislava - Žilina - Košice - Uzhhorod - Kiev).

Location

The station is located southeast of the village center of Kysak on the banks of Hornád.

History

The station was on September 1, 1870 with the commissioning of the route Košice - Prešov in what was then Austria - Hungary by the Košice- Berger train ( Ks.Od. ). With the completion of the line Kysak - Ves, the last part of the main train to Žilina in 1872 he became a railway junction.

The station was destroyed by fighting in December 1944.

The railway infrastructure of the station is now the Železnice Slovenskej Republiky ( ZSR ). The trains are operated by the Železničná spoločnosť Slovensko ( ZSSK ).
