Kyselka

Kyselka ( German Gießhübl - Sauerbrunn ) is a municipality in Okres Karlovy Vary in the region Karlovy Vary ( Carlsbad Region ) of the Czech Republic.

Location

Kyselka lies on both sides of Eger, at the foot of the Ore Mountains and the Doupov Mountains at an altitude of 340 meters. Immediately place opens the valley of the brook Lomnice ( Lomnitz ) in the Eger valley, so that the place is protected in all directions through wooded hills.

History

The proximity to the spa town of Karlovy Vary ensured that at an early stage spa visitors sought out the place. In the years 1792/93 here was a seaside resort, which developed because of its healing waters from the Kaiser- Franz -Josef and the Empress Elisabeth sources quickly became a well-known spa. In the 19th century the name Gießhübl - Puchstein was common, but already before 1900 faded into the background to the 1945 common. Appeared in 1846, a renowned specialist articles of balneologists Joseph of Löschner over the Gießhübler Sauerbrunn, which contributed to improving awareness of the place.

In 1867 Heinrich Mattoni leased from Carlsbad bottling of water from the by the King of Greece in 1853 named Otto Spring. Mattoni 1873 bought the entire place Gießhübl including the Empress Elisabeth source. Under the name Gießhübler Sauerbrunn he made world famous by the bottled water of his new company. For shipping let Mattoni 1890 to build a railway line to Wickwitz. Gießhübl - Sauerbrunn was head of Buštěhrad Railway Station. The shipment finally reached a capacity of 14 million bottles a year.

The influx of guests reached its peak before the First World War. In 1942 the new church Gießhübl - Sauerbrunn formed from the communities Rodisfort and sub ​​- Lomitz and parts of the municipalities Rittersgruen, Schömitz and Zwetbau. After the end of the Second World War, many guests stayed and many houses fell into disrepair.

On 1 December 1930, the city had 552 inhabitants, on 17 May 1939 were 535 and on May 22, 1947 only 297 inhabitants, most of whom after the expulsion of German Bohemia were settlers from the more central parts of the country of Czechoslovakia.

The name Mattoni is now a protected trademark of Karlovarske minerální Vody as ( Carlsbad Mineral Water ), which continues to have a branch company in Kyselka.

The municipality consists of the villages Kyselka Kyselka ( Gießhübl - Puchstein ), Nová Kyselka ( Rittersgruen ) and Radošov ( Rodisfort ), at the same time also form Katastralbezirke.
