Kyteman

Kyteman is the stage name of the Dutch musician Colin Benders ( born December 5, 1986 in Utrecht), of the registered success in the hip- hop genre, especially in his home country. His published in 2009 debut album The Hermit Sessions was composed by him and produced, in addition, he played all the instruments himself a. Musical influences and career

As a three -year-old Colin Benders received his first trumpet, a gift from his uncle Jacky Terrasson, who became known as a jazz pianist. Terrasson took his nephew with the North Sea Jazz Festival, which should have an impact on the career of Kyteman. Early Benders changed from a normal primary school in the Koorschool Cathedral in Utrecht, where accounts for half of the lessons on the subjects of music and choral singing. There Benders learned classical trumpet playing, besides jazz and classical singing had influence on his musical development. During his time at the Relax Benders began preparations for his first album The Hermit Sessions, for which he needed a total of two years. Great influence it had the painful experience of a failed relationship, the Benders processed in this way. Preliminary, he published three titles as EP (The Kyteman -EP, 2008). His debut album was released in 2009 in the top five of the Dutch charts, went platinum and stayed two years in the album charts in the Netherlands. Together with the Dutch jazz trumpeter Eric Vloeimans brought Benders 2011 another album out, this time under the project name Kytecrash on his own label Kytopia.

On his debut album Colin Benders had played all the instruments himself. At first he did not think about going with The Hermit Sessions on stage since the reaction appeared to be too difficult and too expensive. But then lured him the challenge: Fifteen orchestra musicians and some rappers who participated on the album was compiled specifically for live performances. In various festivals, he solved together with Kyteman 's Hip -hop Orchestra of great enthusiasm and won the Popprijs 2009 at the Noorderslag festival in Groningen. After the reunion of the now renamed The Kyteman Orchestra ensembles appeared in March 2012 in the Netherlands the eponymous album from which the title The Mushroom Cloud was released as a single for Germany. This album was composed by Bender on Iceland and recorded in analog there. According to Bender, it is " time travel back thirty years ," one in which this time mainly oriented to the classical music there are stylistic elements of hip- hop, jazz, drum & bass and electro-pop.
