Kyusu

Kyusu (Japanese急 须) is a traditional Japanese teapot that is mainly used for brewing green tea.

A common misconception is that a Kyusu must have a side handle forever. The word actually means only Kyusu teapot, although so often a teapot with side handle is meant.

The two most common types of Kyusu are yokode Kyusu (横 手 急 须, " teapots with side handle "), which have a side handle and the more frequent type, and ushirode Kyusu (后手 急 须, "teapot with handle " ), the side a U-shaped have grip, like almost all other teapots in the world .. There are also uwade Kyusu (上手 急 须, "teapot with handle above " ) teapots with a handle on top.
