L'amor coniugale

L' amor coniugale is a farsa sentimental in one act, written by the composer Johann Simon Mayr Bavaria. It was premiered in 1805 in Padua. The libretto was written by Gaetano Rossi. It is a "rescue opera" according to the text book by Jean Nicolas Bouilly Opera - comique Leonore ou L' Amour conjugal, which was set to music by Pierre Gaveaux and premiered in Paris in 1798.

Action

The action takes place in a prison in Poland. The jailer Peters has a servants called Malvino. This is in reality Zeliska who wants her husband, who is imprisoned unjustly in prison, liberate. Floreska, the daughter of Peter, has fallen in love with Malvino. The Father Peters would like to organize the wedding, but Malvino not want and would rather accompany Peters in jail.
