Reviews

"The example of a product originating from humble Roman girl torn between two men Antonioni takes up the theme of the lack of contact and love inability of modern man. An ending in skepticism and emptiness testimony of an alert mind, not easily broken down by the contrapuntal design. The pessimistic, highly symbolic design makes the desolation experienced, but also hard to bear. "

" Formal very informative powerful film requires its message of life and contactlessness Empty open-minded audience. For adults with a critical eye occasion for reflection and conversation. "

Awards

The film participated in the competition at the International Film Festival of Cannes in 1962 and won the Special Jury Prize.
