L'Illustration

L' Illustration was a French weekly newspaper, published March 4, 1843 to 1944.

It was founded by the journalist Edouard Charton, Jacques -Julien Dubochet, Jean -Baptiste -Alexandre Paulin, the geographer Adolphe Joanne and the publisher Jean -Jacques Dubochet in Paris. The latter was her first editor and publisher. A total of 5293 issues appeared with approximately 180,000 pages. L' Illustration is one of the earliest illustrated magazines and newspapers, comparable founded a year before The Illustrated London News and the Leipzig Illustrirten newspaper, which has almost the same appearance time. 1891 L' Illustration published for the first time in France a photograph.

During the Second World War, the newspaper appeared after the German occupation continues. After the liberation in 1944, the Journal was banned due to the collaboration of her boss Jacques de Lesdain.
