L'Orient-Le Jour

L' Orient -Le Jour is a Lebanese newspaper in French.

On September 1, 1970 ( according to other sources on June 15, 1971) merged two former French-language newspapers L' Orient ( founded in 1923 by Gabriel Khabbaz and Georges Naccache ) and Le Jour founded in 1935 by Michel Chiha to L' Orient- Le Jour.

She claims to be the third largest newspaper ( according to requirements and advertising, with about 18,000 copies ), and the only French- language daily newspaper in Lebanon and the Middle East ( except Egypt). It is read by French-speaking readers in Lebanon, ie especially but not exclusively by Christians.

L' Orient -Le Jour treated both Lebanese domestic politics and international politics, culture, business, sports etc. They are writers, thinkers, intellectuals, the opportunity to publish their thoughts.

The editorial director is Nayla de freedman and chief editor is Nagib Aoun.
