LA Woman was the last album the Doors with Jim Morrison before his death in July 1971.

Background

LA Woman considered to be the most influenced by the blues album of the band. After the departure of her producer Paul A. Rothchild in November 1970, the Doors started recording with the sound engineer Bruce Botnick in " The Doors Workshop" in Los Angeles. Most of the tracks were recorded directly, only a few passages from Ray Manzarek and the studio musicians Jerry Scheff and Mark Benno were dubbing in hindsight. It is the only album of the Morrison era of The Doors, and there have no tour. Jim Morrison went to the recordings to Paris, where he died a few months later.

A new version of the album, called LA Woman ( 40th Anniversary Mixes), was published in March 2007. It contains two bonus tracks: Orange County Suite and written by Willie Dixon ( You Need Meat) Do not Go No Further, it was already on the 1972 compilation Weird Scenes Inside The published gold mine.

The U.S. music magazine Rolling Stone published a 2003 list of the 500 Greatest Albums of all Time, was elected to the LA Woman at number 362.

In the title song LA Woman Jim Morrison sings towards the end of the song: Mr. Mojo risin '(= "Mr. Mojo rising "). This is an anagram of his own first and last name.
