La Angostura (Santa Cruz)

La Angostura is a village in the department of Santa Cruz in the South American Andes State of Bolivia.

La Angostura is the central place of the Canton La Angostura in the district ( bolivian: Municipio) El Torno in the province of Andrés Ibáñez. The village lies at an altitude of 640 m on the left bank of the river between the towns of El Torno Pirai and Samaipata.

Geography

La Angostura is located in the humid tropical climate on the eastern edge of the Andes mountain range of the Cordillera Oriental. The region was covered before colonization by subtropical rainforest, but today it is mostly cultivated land.
