La Antena was filmed entirely in black and white. The soundtrack is, like a silent film, almost entirely from music, only La Voz and her son have some spoken lines of dialogue. Unlike in usual silent films, the dialogues of the other protagonists are displayed not in intertitles, but in the current image. Instead of modern CGI technology makes use Sapir classical animation techniques such as miniature sets and stop-motion.

Reviews

"Experimental black and white science fiction dystopia that impressed by their form joy. A playful and bizarre allegory on the basis of expressionist silent films over a voice to a regimented society. "

" La Antena 'is a visually stunning filmed in b / w tribute to the almost forgotten silent movie era. With great attention to detail, peppered with quirky characters and surprising, clever ideas and a touching imagery Argentine director Esteban Sapir told in his second feature film, the story of a family who has the courage to stand up against foreign domination and oppression to fight back. "

" La Antena ' though is very much form, but not suitable to tell the contents of the story, which has a kind of media fascism to content. The homage and development of silent films of the 20s fails for this reason, unfortunately, a lack of rigor. "
