La Baie des Anges

The blonde sinner is a French film from 1962, directed by Jacques Demy, who also wrote the screenplay. It was Demy's second feature film after Lola and before The Umbrellas of Cherbourg. The female lead role was played by Jeanne Moreau. The original title of La baie des anges translates to "The Bay of Angels ".

Action

Jean Fournier is a small bank employee who leads a boring life. As it is the first time in a casino and a large sum of wins, his life changes. For his next vacation he is planning a trip to Nice, there to visit the casino. In a dispute arises with his father who is against gambling and use it as not fitting look for jeans career as a banker. He drives yet to Nice and get to know the attractive Jackie there. Jackie is addicted to gambling and her first marriage failed because of this addiction. Jean has now found the right partner for the exciting game. Together, they will also visit the famous Casino of Monte Carlo. Happiness seems to hold them, and now they spend their time in luxury hotels and continue in the casino. For Jean begins a life on the sunny side. Only Jackie was only Game companion, now it is his great love. But luck turns soon by Jean again. The money gained is soon playful, Jean is broke and disillusioned. He wishes to return to his old life as quickly as possible. His father lent him money for the return trip. But when he wants to pick up Jackie out of the hotel, she is already back in the game room. There she loses and sends him away. He leaves, she looks around, jumps up and runs after him.
